Logging software is insidious malware. For example, even if you are scrupulous with your password management and the use of secure web sites, a text logger can undo all that hard work by tracking all the text you type.
Passwords can therefore be logged and potentially sent across the internet without your knowledge if you get this spyware on your system.
Many of the big name "internet security" suites a good at preventing known keylogging software from being installed on your computer, but if they miss one, they are usually not so good (if they even try at all) with stopping logging activities.
This is where a software utility liike Zemana AntiLogger comes into play ... Zemana say:

Desktop Security Software test results:
Zemana provide a number of their own test programs - these are logging software you don't want on your PC normally, but these are benign programs that are there to help evaluate the software. We downloaded all of these security test applications on platforms using XP (with Norton Internest Security) and Vista (using McAfee Internet Security).
Neither system flagged anything suspicious or worrying going on with the download or on execution of the test applications. Now, we didn't bother testing that AntiLogger found their own test applications - it's not difficult to write software that finds software you've also written!
Instead we ran another key logger and also a screen capture app we wrote for testing something else and the Zemana AntiLogger found and highlighted these both instantly and prevented or allowed execution depending on what we decided.
Norton and McAfee don't find these (our) logging applications - but Zemana AntiLogger does. This is because AntiLogger is looking for certain behaviours, whereas the other security software specialise in looking for virus and intrusion 'signatures' - which they won't find in this context. We also like the AntiLogger User Interface - it's intuitive and clean and up there with the Symantec/Norton 'look and feel'. So based on the above tests, we believe this software does what it claims to do!
Point of note:
After installing AntiLogger, there can be quite a few warning messages that pop-up (at first) as you use your usual software applications (a few legitimate programs hook into keyboards etc), but once the AntiLogger was "trained" by accepting the warnings, we rarely heard from AntiLogger again - it sat quietly in the background (it loads with Windows) protecting our system.
After a number of months of use - we can report no issues with this software. It does "dial home" to check for updates and we did notice a half a dozen requests for us to install an update across a few months. Installing updates is a smooth process, but we did wonder why we needed so many in such a relatively short amount of time, as this software apparently looks for behaviours of programs rather than needing virus signatures. Anyway, a minor issue.
