It is very popular and the free edition has much of the functionality thst the "plus" version has, though the "plus" to-be-paid-for version is very reasonably priced at $29.95 with lifetime upgrades and is licensed per customer rather than per machine (so you can install Scotty on your desktop and laptop).

Scotty is WinPatrol's mascot and helper watchdog icon who will pop up an alert if any potential issues are uncovered in day to day use of your PC.
